This year, the Office of the Chief Rabbi has been working with communities, encouraging them to plan Torah learning programmes which are more creative and more impactful than ever before.

Shavuot is our Festival of Torah because it celebrates that foundational moment in Jewish history – the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai.

Since then, in every generation, we have discovered anew, the truth of the famous saying of our sages: “take the Torah, turn it this way and that, for everything is in it”.

There is quite simply no end to the depth, the wisdom and the fulfilment that can be found within the Torah – and that’s what makes Shavuot so special.

On Shavuot we celebrate Torah by studying it in all of its profundity – not just reading the text but truly seeking to understand its transformative lessons.

So why not contact your local synagogue community and find what they have planned?

Whatever you already know, Shavuot, our Festival of Torah, is the perfect opportunity to dig a little deeper.

Wishing you a Chag Sameach – a very joyful Festival of Torah.
