Chelsea’s match against AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, on the 31st January 2018, was used as a platform to launch their ‘Say No to Antisemitism’ campaign, initiated by club owner Roman Abramovich to defeat and raise awareness of Antisemitism in football.

The Chief Rabbi addressed special guests at a pre-match reception, including Ronald Lauder of the World Jewish Congress, and Israeli Ambassador Mark Regev.

He said, “The approach that we should have when it comes to Antisemitism should be the Frank Lampard system: brilliant in defence and brilliant in attack.”

He continued, “We have to be brilliant in defence in order to guarantee that those with malevolent intent will not achieve their goals in our stadiums, in our communal facilities and in venues around the country…”
