Kids and adults alike were excited with the ice sculpting activity in Stanmore shul. Each group recieved a big block of ice to carve away at, learning new skills in order to uncover their masterpeice. There was also some warmer arts and crafts for those too young to hold a chisel, or too cold! The grand finale was the lighting of a giant ice menorah, carved by the ice sculpting masters themselves. It was a heart-warming event despite the ice and a unique activity enjoyed by all!

Evaluation from Rabbi Daniel Fine:

“There was lots of energy and it was a fun event, a chance to meet new people and menorah lighting at the end”.

Participant Feedback:

  • ‘Really fun and challenging. Really forced my daughter to use lots of skills to work as a team and create something. Plus she got to play with ice’!
  • ‘Our community engaged in this event and it was nice to see faces I didn’t even know were members of Stanmore’.
