Chief Rabbi Addresses Scottish Parliament
The Chief Rabbi spent Monday and Tuesday in Edinburgh meeting with various members of the Scottish Parliament including Tricia Marwick, the Presiding Officer and leaders of all of the major Scottish political parties; Ruth Davidson, Conservative Leader; Willie Rennie, Liberal Democrat leader; and Johann Lamont, Labour leader.
Ken Macintosh MSP hosted a lunch in honour of the Chief Rabbi which was attended by a range of MSP’s and a cross section of Scottish community faith leaders.
The Chief Rabbi delivered ‘Time for Reflection’ to the Scottish Parliament.

Following the Chief Rabbi’s address to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland last month, the Chief Rabbi met with the Moderator of the General Assembly, the Rt Rev John Chalmers, to discuss future dialogue between the Jewish community and the Church.
“The Moderator and I have a clear understanding of the way forward and I look forward to ongoing fruitful discussions on matters of mutual concern, and on some difficult issues as well.”
The Chief Rabbi visited Edinburgh Hebrew Congregation where he met the community and the Synagogue’s Board of Management.
The trip was rounded off with a productive meeting with Alex Salmond, First Minister.
