Pinner: Simply Tsfat Chanukah Concert

Event

In an attempt to revive attendance at its communal Chanukah event, Pinner shul staged a very popular candle lighting and concert with the Chassidic band Simply Tsfat, in this way providing members with an uplifting and meaningful experience for the Festival of Lights. A sense of cohesion extended beyond just the kehila itself, the Synagogue having never before hosted Chassidic guests.

Objectives

Attract larger numbers to an event that has previously had poor attendance; provide an inspiring spiritual and religious experience, in this way opening people to new perspectives and experiences; to employ Simply Tsfat to convey the sense of joy that being Jewish should bring.

Evaluation from Rabbi Danny Bergson:

“We had triple the number of attendees on last year, with talented musicians bringing pure joy and simcha to the community at an important time. People jumped from their seats to spontaneously dance, and the creation of a beautiful, warm community atmosphere uplifted everyone present. I am delighted that Pinner has been given the opportunity to have this experience, which would not have been possible without the CRE subsidy.”

Participant Feedback:

  • There was such ruach in the room that you couldn’t help but be spiritually raised; it was wonderful to share this experience with the Community. I especially enjoyed the stories that were told by the group members of Simply Tsfat relating to each song.
  • It was lovely to see such a great event attracting different segments of the community, proving what a strong kehilla Pinner has,
  • I feel a buzz from such an uplifting and quite spiritual evening. I would love to see more such events to mark the Chaggim, especially the “minor” festivals.
