For the third night of Chanukah, the Chief Rabbi was warmly received by residents, families and staff at The Sidney and Ruza Last Foundation, also known as SAGE Care Home.

Elderly members of the Jewish community benefitted from the chance to hear Chief Rabbi Mirvis speak with their families gathered around them – a heartening view of community life that led him to remark upon “the wonderful atmosphere.” He declared it “a pleasure to celebrate Chanukah in their midst,” paralleling the growing strength of the Chanukiah throughout Chanukah with the growing strength of their community. The room filled with song as the Chief Rabbi led prayers, having lit candles as the crowd looked on. Afterwards attendees enjoyed a buffet dinner.
