Marking the Yahrzeit of October 7
As Jewish communities prepare to mark the first Yahrzeit, on Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, of the victims of the October 7th terror attacks in Israel, the Chief Rabbi has recommended that communities dedicate the final Hakafah on Simchat Torah in their merit.
The Chief Rabbi has recommended a number of songs which can be sung following the Hakafah, in this document.
In addition, we have also distributed to communities an updated prayer for Israel and a special Memorial Prayer for the Victims of October 7th to be recited during the Yizkor service.
