Chief Rabbi inducts new St Albans Rabbi
Chief Rabbi Mirvis was delighted to induct Rabbi Daniel Sturgess, a former director of Aish UK, into office at St Albans United synagogue.
Members filled the shul to see Rabbi and Rebbetzin Sturgess officially installed in their community, making them the first rabbinical couple to preside over the St Albans congregation in 50 years. The Chief Rabbi noted the immense satisfaction felt by all on the new appointment, observing in his induction address that “the committee is pleased to have such a wonderful couple to lead it, while they [the couple] are pleased to be leading such a wonderful group of people.” Rabbi Sturgess returned the compliment to his community, praising them for their “warmth, dedication and ambition.”
